Brief Profile of the Department

The Department of Political Science came into existence  along with the inception of the college in 1986. It enjoys an exceptional reputation for both teaching and research with a dedicated faculty widely  known for their research acumen and teaching competency. Over the years, the subject has gained popularity among the students and become the most attractive discipline in the college. Since last academic session , the Dept. has been undertaking 4years bachelor programme , within the  framework of NEP 2020, as per the syllabus prescribed by Rajiv Gandhi University. The major thrust areas of the Department are: Political Theory, Indian Constitution, International Relations, Foreign Policy, Public Administration, Public Policy, Western as well as Modern Indian Thinkers, Comparative Govt and Politics, State Politics, Arunachal Govt. and Politics, North East Politics , Research Methodology  etc. 

At present, the Dept of  Political science has  largest  students strength with 194 major students in 2nd , 164 in 4th semester and 236 in  6th semester.
